Plant of the Week - Liriope muscari

Our Liriope muscari are looking fantastic at the moment so they take the prize for plant of the week, this week.

They are evergreen and are tuberous perennials that form dense clumps of grass like leaves. In amongst the foliage are upright spikes of small purple flowers that appear now in autumn.

They are great for shade and partial shade and grow to around half a metre high and wide. They like to stay moist but in well drained soil so avoid overly wet areas. They like a sheltered spot so they do well planted under trees and larger shrubs.
