Plant of the Week

Plant of the week goes to Lythrum virgatum ‘Dropmore Purple’ otherwise known as purple loosestrife.
A fairly tall, clump forming perennial with an upright habit growing to approximately 120cm tall.
The foliage gives some bright interest way before the delicate pinky purple flowers appear.
Very wafty, they do well at the middle to back of the border in a sunny position with reliably moist soil. Ideal for the edge of ponds or water.
